Known for her use of color and graphic compositions, Nelson dazzles the viewer with iconic imagery. The artist deconstructs traditional archetypes of women by exploring the unique lives of her muses—a stark contrast to the black & white housewives of a bygone era.

This series chronicles multifaceted, hard-working women who are simultaneously quirky, fashionable, and glamorous. The artist depicts a strong, confident housewife who does it all–whether alone or with a friend, at home, at work, or on holiday–she has earned her self-care moments.

Nelson proves that the stereotypical pre-industrial housewife is but a mere shadow of the modern housewife. She is not bored or lonely, but instead an empowered, independent woman who has it all and only desperate for some time alone.
